I will be getting my Barker Exhaust soon...probably tomorrow. I was wondering how big the difference will be in power after installing the quiet core. I ask because I am going to dyno tune the bike and I was wondering if it will screw the tune up if I go back and forth or should I keep it one way. I just do not always ride in areas that I need to keep the noise down. If the power difference is negligible, I will not worry about it. I know these bikes do not make huge numbers, so losing 3 or 4 horse power is a big deal. Thanks in advance.

If you get it tuned without the quiet core you will more than likely be fine running it with. If your exhaust is a bit more restrictive you will just run a hair richer. I just got mine and have the EHS programmer and have ran it up and down our subdivision with and without the quiet core, not making programmer changes, and there isnt really a noticable difference(no boggy spots, no lean spots)....OR as everyone else always says..."call Eric"....however on this one....I would say you would be fine and leave the poor guy alone.

LOL thats funny

its really a good idea to tune for both though it will make it run a bit richer if your using a pc3 have them tune it for one way then put it in and see if there is a difference it only take one pull and maybe another 6 more pulls to write a second map once your original map for the bike is made. If your using our tuner i would suggest when adding it trim back .5 on green and yellow and maybe 1 or red but our controllers are fairly forgiving the way i set them up the pc3 are slightly more picky

Ah, Thanks. I was unsure if the quietcore would change the AFR's very much. I will just have Wes tune the bike without the insert then we will do another pull or two to see what the ole bike thinks. If we run too rich, I will just have him write me another map. I really did not think that there would be that much of a difference, but after I have the head p&p'd it will change a bit more. Thanks again!

If you add the Autotune to your PC5 you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Yeah, I know, but Im getting my bike tuned for free. If it needs to be fixed or altered.....free! The auto tune is like 259 bucks. No need to spend un needed cash right! It shouldn't be that big of a deal, I just needed some input. I know that when I ride my little girl on my bike, the wife doesn't like all the noise, and to ride in some ATV parks, you have to be under the sound level. I will mostly ride with the pipe open.

Hhhmmm...That's a drag. Well, I finally got my exhaust in and installed, so I will start trying to set a date for my tune. I will keep you posted with the map and dyno data.
