Hello all,

I recently had to replace my handlebars due to a little mistake I made. Anyway, I replaced them with a set of standard Rental's with crossbar/pad and new half-waffle grips. Ever since, I've noticed seemingly lots of vibration through my hands, and it's a little off-putting when it happens for extended periods of time on smooth terrain. It only happens when you rev it hard, and doesn't matter if moving or sitting still. It doesn't happen at all when the clutch is in/coasting at idle. Something doesn't make sense. Do you think the bars being more rigid have anything to do with it? I'm thinking about putting some rubber isolators between the steering stem head and bar mounts. Anyone else experience this or something similar?

factory bars have weights in them to absorb vibes....
Yep...

Might I suggest you add an anti-vibe bar clamp from Precision Racing. Great product.... Tell George I referred you. You also would need to let him know if your bars are stock dia or fat bars.
You might want to change grips to a full pillow top or something like ODI Rogue.

You can also put weight in your handlebars. I used to do it all the time when I raced Moto. I just used a cheap wax, and shoved it inside the handlebars. Just try and use the same amount on each side.

I use to fill my Renthal's with silicone to cut down on vibration ages ago when I was younger (alot younger). Renthal now fills there 7/8" bars with something similar and stops about 2" from the outside ,so you can fit wrap around handgaurds. I ran my 700xx with Renthal Quadracer bend bars and this made the vibration worse.

There is a company that makes something similar to the xx bars without the crossbar , I think it is Moose or maybe Tusk Racing.

An anti vibe stem or anti vibe clamps may help but if you go down that route invest in some 1 1/8" Fatbars, Pro Tapers or Easton bars etc. these help alot with cutting down vibration. Good grips also help out.
