HI guys, I'm new on here, just got my 2008 model.it was just sitting around for 2 years and the guy wanted it gone,so i got it for the right price.
I have been riding and been around bikes ,trikes and quads for years.
i have just noticed the round alloy "tank" below the radiator on the bottom of the frame and wondered what it is?? fuel filter/pump??

I had to go over the bike just to check everthing first, hoses, bolts etc. It has about 5 hours on it.It has sat for over a year, needed a new battery and pump up tyres ,clean air filter, lube chain with Inox etc.It was the one on Ozatv forum.I am from Qld. I hope to go out next few days to get it dirty.!!

mervex,
Welcome to the forum. Glad you were able to get the XX. It is a great machine with many neat features. Be sure to get a service manual so you can do any maintenance yourself. I believe there is a thread on the "How To" section of the forum to download a free copy of the manual. Good luck and happy riding with the machine.

First time out on an IRS anything today! Madfab asked what i thought of the trx.
Well, i think they are absolutely awesome,in every way!!
I really feel sorry for 700 Raptor owners, they just don't get it!!
Its like Honda designed it just for me.
I stopped at the mall on they way home and bought a blanket for my straight axle quad. Its going for sure.
The main thing is the confidence to attack anything, any obstacle in the way.
i will probly keep it box stock apart from some shocks with comp/rebound dampening that works.
apart from that,just awesome!!

mervex,
An excellent choice. The suspension, mainly the shocks, are the only things I changed on mine (more adjustability). The Elka Shocks work great for me. Other members on this forum have different replacement units and I am sure they are all good. I commend you for wanting to keep your XX stock but as you gain experience with the machine you may want to change or add other aftermarket "goodies". Oh yes, I did put nerf bars on mine.
