first of all honda didnt sell these machines for the MSRP of 8XXX what ever and used ones are only going for 3k its like everyone thinks they suck or they are going to fall apart what is it? it makes me mad dirt wheels have had a few reviews and build but i feel their needs to be more push on it. i know they arent in product as of now but there are new ones out there, just bored cause its iced over in houston let me know what yall think!

I don't think its the market.....although the market has had an affect on all quad sales, there are others selling still, and at MSRP. I think it is because what most people wanted was for honda to come out with a big bore SRA quad, not an IRS, and all this talk of honda possibly discontinuing the XX also has an affect on sales as well. Just my .02.

I 100% agree. Every time someone comes up to look at my XX they say I really was thinking about getting one until I found out it has an IRS.

People in general arent sold yet on IRS on a sport quad. Theres alot of TRX owners that was looking forward to the 700 until they found out about the IRS. The economy didnt help either.

uneducated opinions is why, i let everyone ride my bike for a minute or two, everybody likes how smooth it is on the trails, it allows me to lead the pack most of the time because of the confidence i have, when other see the whoops or some potholes they grab the brake and i grab more throttle.the guys i ride with nicknamed mine "the caddillac".
and i dont eve have to talk about all of the rutted trails that they get stuck in due to small tires on a sra bike

I'm surprised it was ever made to be honest - Honda seriously overconsidered the market this bike had. It's the strangest bunch of design ideas in one bike possible, I reckon - it just happen to work out really well of us!
It doesn't have the abilities (towing/racks/4x4) of a big bike, so guys looking for looking for quick fun ute's buy Brute Forces and Outlanders/Renegades.
A guy looking to step up from a pure sport bike can't just jump on a XX and ride it like he stole it because of the IRS, so they are still buying Raptors.
The 700xx is great at a few things - Woods and Baja... but most woods riders want smaller bikes (300/400/450s) and there aren't too many of us that have a place to Baja!
To make it worse, the idiosyncrasies of our bikes turn a lot of guys off. (11'' rims? 500lbs? IRS + chain? crazy styling?)
We may love this bike, but it can't be a money maker for Honda.
I would be very surprised if they continued production on it for much longer... sad fact but they just don't sell!

Sad fact is around me most guys buy 450's. You can do gncc, mx, and just trail riding. They're fast and light. Even the 700 raptors don't sell here.

Same here. At Glamis and Dumont dunes people always come up to ask me questions about it.
I wasn't sold on the XX at first but after riding bitch on my buddys outlander watching all the SRA 450s, banshees and raptors riding in the areas I was going to be riding in, it was clear I would not have been happy with a SRA sport bike. I bought the XX and I have no regrets it was tailor made for my riding areas and my riding style and for me it was the perfect ATV.
There is definitely a market for this bike and I hope they continue production on it for many years to come because I would buy another in an instant.

i dont have any regrets either... i am always waiting for the rest of my buddies who ride SRAs when we hit the trails, not to mention having to pull them out a few times. sure, its not the fastest on the dunes, but ive never high-centered or gotten stuck, and when the sand is choppy, the suspension just eats it up. im the only one whos kidneys aren't bruised at the end of the day. i always have people asking me questions about it in the staging areas.
i guess its just something thats a little too unique for people to just drop $5k on, especially in the current economy... except us, lol.

This is one reason i like my bike. I never see any around here. I get alot of questions about mine too. Then of course the 450 guys wanna see how fast it is. I always hang right with them in drag races and leave them in my dust in the trails. I had a guy come up to me once out on the strip mines on a poolaris predator. He said "WTF is that man"! I just laughed! He thought that predator was bad til he rode mine. He said the only thing he didn't like about it was that he couldn't get up on the tank and goose it and spin it around. That was before i got the L8TON sway bar and the fox shox! :tup:

Exactly what I was thinking!! And I think the main reason people don't buy the xx is becuase they think it's big and heavy and only for old people who want a somewhat fast quad. If Honda simply gave the dry weight, stiffer sway bar, and somehow use 10" rear rims they would have sold a bunch more.

this is a lot of work for the unexperienced. ladies like a smooth opperator and thats what the xx is. i think there was a lot of bad press from the testers and not enough from what the people think because we have to answer every question skeptics have about the xx. i dont mind answering their questions when they catch up.
