Hey guys, I bought my 700xx earlier this year so I'm still within my 1 year warranty. I took it to the dealership because it was creeping forward while in gear with the clutch pulled all the way in. The parking brake had also stopped working. After 2 weeks, I got a phone call from them letting me know that it was ready and that it was going to be around $100. I told them it was under warranty and he said that my problems weren't covered by warranty. He also told me that they had to put a new sparkplug in because mine was fouled and that was on the ticket as well. The plug that I had in there only had about 3 rides on it. It had no starting problems when I dropped it off! What the hell?? Sorry, just needed to vent!

Did you authorize the repair?

Damn 2 weeks !! Your plug shouldnt have been fouled already either. The clutch adjustment and parking brake adjustment should have taken 5 minutes. The parking brake on my 700 went out also, I thought that was crap. Im not sure it ever worked. They dont cover much under the warranty. No wearing parts are covered like clutch or brakes. I would be angry too ! It shouldnt have cost that much nor taken that long !

Things like that ARE covered by warranty... at least at my dealer. Except for the plug that's a wear item, the rest is just adjustments and were probably a result bad set up from the dealer in the first place.

My parking brake has been fixed twice at the dealer, and they adjusted my clutch once too, all under warranty. I can adjust it all myself now that I took the time to learn how. could be cuz I payed for the 3 year extended warranty and the routine maintenance package though.

I never take out warranty on my Honda's . The first I go to a race the warranty is void . :D Honda's have served me well and haven't any problems over the years.

How is cable adjustment covered under a warranty? Thats like saying the warranty covers your chain when it gets loose, do they tighten it for you?
lol well im not sure it was a warranty issue, but they did tighten it for me once when i had the oil changed free of charge. I like that i get free unlimited oil changes and oil filters, i get it done almost every time i ride, plus 2 free full tune ups per year for 3 years.

Need to read your warranty and see what it covers. A warranty is to protect you against manufacturer's defects, does not cover normal wear and tear. Your clutch and parking brake cable's needed adjustment due to wear. If you want maintenance stuff covered, you need to buy some type of service plan.

I think some people think they can go out hit a tree, rip a front corner off the quad, take it back to the dealer and get it fixed for free since they have a warranty. Not going to happen.

I agree with others, I never take the extended warranty. Just about any mod will void it. When I bought my 700XX they were pushing the extended warranty hard, they guy would not take no for a answer. Even after I told him I would race it, he still kept pusing it. After I told him my planned mods, he backed off right away and told me I the warranty will not cover anything if you install those mods.

in the manual it shows you how to adjust both the clutch and the parking brake...why would you even waste the time to load it up?

i would take it back if the air gets low in the tires too...the hondaline air is the best on the market...they better cover it too!!!!!

I was told when i purchased mine, don't waste your time or money with the warranty. Honda with not cover any thing on a sports quad lol. At least they were honest!

I would not trust any dealer to touch my 700 anyways!
