AC bumper - garbage

Sorry about the negative reviews lately but I have another issue, this time with the AC racing blackline bumper that I purchased for my black xx. I originally wanted the same IMS roll classic bumper that I already have on my red xx but IMS quite making them. I looked around and noticed that the AC bumper looked exactly the same as the ims in pictures. Did a quick search and found a thread on another forum that said both bumpers were made by the same company and rebranded. I seriously doubt that now. Nothing about these bumpers are similar in person. Most likely AC just copied the design

The welds on this thing are big and messy. Looks like an amateur welder put it together. The Powder coat is extremely cheap. Almost looks like spray paint it's that bad. Nothing like the nice wrinkle coat the IMS has. The worst part is that the bumper is uneven. The left side is significantly smaller than the right and the middle plate is bent to fit. I plan on returning it and ordering a prm desert II . I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow.

So I emailed the company I bought the bumper from on ebay and they responded "Dont even bother sending it back. throw it in the garbage, we are sending a refund now". Didn't even have to send any pics. I'm guessing they knew it was a botched bumper and tried to sell it anyway. It will make a good spare I guess. Lol

Some companies try to "copy" the design (look) of another company's product only to discover they only managed to copy the look and not the quality... this does not mean that they knowingly sold a defective product, but by giving your money back with no questions asked tells me they are trying to do the right thing.

When I asked them if they sold any other bumpers (more specifically PRM or IMS Roll) they responded that they were trying to get rid of their old inventory and wouldn't be receiving anything new for our bike. When they said that, I figured they must have had the bumper for a while and probably knew it was misshaped. Still good service none the less. I'm not complaining anymore lol

The PRM is a better bumper anyway. It's rubber mounted so you shouldn't have issues with it cracking the welds.

I love the look of the Desert II, but also the idea of the Class One bumper. The storage tray and light mount are both great ideas. But almost look like to much hanging in front of a sport quad. I'd love to see one installed in person. The 1 1/4" tubing has to be beefy and I'm sure will hold up great on your Desert II. Post up some pic's for sure.
