Went to Apex/Nellis dunes this morning. Usually go there, Jean, or Nelson Hills are my usual riding areas. Quad will be raced in the Best in the Desert series. If things work out like I hope, will be back to racing the full season next year and chasing the championship in the Quad Ironman Expert class.

Quad ran great this morning, amazing what a difference the big 3 make to the XX. Seemed to be a little rich with the map I was using, but will work for now. Can't wait to dig into the motor some more! My only problem was I had to cut the ride short, ended up getting a rear flat tire. (Stupid Maxxis razr sidewalls!) Still got about a hour and a half long ride in. Pipe didn't seem all that loud either, even though I was running 16 discs on the end cap.

Nerfs worked just as good as the ones on my 450R. Have to say I liked them a little better since the stock XX suspension is so bad. Everytime I ride my XX I am amazed at how bad the front shocks are. Can't wait to get some suspension on this thing, should make it 100 times more enjoyable to ride!

I go to Apex also, yesterday I went to Cold Creek and went thru Wheelers Pass.
It was nice and cool, in the 70's in the morning.
Is there any racing in las vegas or do you travel?

There is some quad racing around Vegas. MRAN (www.mranracing.com) does allow quads at some races. Then BITD is based out of Vegas, the Henderson 250 is out in Jean in December, the other races require traveling. I am sure some of the nearby MX tracks allow quads also, but never really looked into it as I am not a big fan of MX.

The nerfs are really nice, they do take the edge off hard hits, of course you have to be standing to take advantage of them, just makes me get my butt off the seat!

Yes they are pricey, but my second favorite peg setup is the Roll Design peg, heel guard, and nerf combo. Prices between the two are pretty much the same, but no suspension with the Roll Design stuff.

does ims-roll even make pegs/nerfs for the 700?

I know they make pegs and heel guards for the xx but I don't think they have nerfs for it. It's around 400 just for the pegs and netted heel guard that's why they aren't that common since you can get very nice nerfs for that much.

Yeah, I have Roll Design pegs and heel gaurds on my other 700XX. Never checked on nerfs, so not sure if they make them or not. I need to check the 700XX, but the 450R Roll pegs keep the front face of the peg at the same place as stock, so any nerf that will fit the stock pegs will fit the Roll pegs. Hopefully they did the same with the 700XX pegs.
