Yeah I think most are. For my ice screw tires I use a tire like razr's that have big beefy lugs. Over the years I have had several different sets and the type of tread doesn't seem to make a difference other than how well they hold the screws. I usually use a half wore out set of tires that I have replaced but still holds air. Then I estimate how thick the tire still is in the lugs, and buy hex head sheet metal screws from the hardware store that are a little shorter. I usually get about two hundred in each rear tire and One hundred in each front. I then use a shot of green slime because there is always some that went thru. Even with that I will usually have some leaks so I may have to add air anytime I ride with them.
