Busco Beach Help

Hey guys, I need a little help. My family and I just arrived at Busco Beach today and 5 minutes out I bend my tie rod. I need to know of a place to get one or any members close by have any laying around that I could buy. We are here until Sunday so let me know if anyone can help. Thanks

John

If all else fails take it off, lay it on something firm and beat it straight. I did that to my left one over a year ago. And never replaced it, but I do have 2 extra's with tie-rod end's now! It's a good item to carry with you on the trails, that's for sure.

I was thinking about trying to straighten it but didn't think it would last. Now that you said you were able to keep riding I'm going to pull it off and hammer the piss out of it. Thanks quick.

you can straightn it temporarily on the trail but it usually isnt for the good! it will still usually pull to the left or right, your steering! and then your camber and castor is usually tweaked too. good luck!

Thanks tbird. I was able to get it back to the campsite without much of a problem. I was hoping someone around the area had one but all the parts store do not have them in stock. One place could get it by Saturday but wanted $62 for it (just the tie rod no ends). I'll just straighten it in the morning and ride her until Sunday. I brought my rincon too so if I can not get it straight enough it will just have to sit at camp for the weekend.

Update..... I was able to get it pretty straight. I removed it put it in my propane grill and heated it up. I then took the pin out of my hitch on my truck and slid the tie rod in to it. I took my floor jack handle and slid it over the tie rod and slowly straightened it. It took a few times but its almost like new. Once it was straight I heated one last time then ran down to the lake to cool it off. Hopefully to add a little strength to it.

Thanks for the help guys, now I'm off riding again.

Good deal, now just try to be careful and don't run into anything else. Hope you have a great weekend.
