Question looking to get into races

yea dont know where to put this. but im looking to get into xc/harescramble races, however ive never really raced and is there anything specific i should do to get ready?

Have fun and race at your own pace. A modified XX will do a lot better than a near stock one but I'm not sure what your XX has done to it or what your budget is. Shocks, big 3 and tires would probably be the most important things for a woods race to improve your time. Maybe change the front sprocket also to a 13t. although I haven't done it, lots of trail riders swear by it

Suspension, 6 ply tires, skid plate, steering stabilizer.

Ride time/practice will be more important than any machine modification. Most of the races are 2 hours long.

Big 3 is not too important in woods racing. could tire you out faster. 13 tooth front sprocket will help in the tighter areas.

so far all i got is kutters all the way around. but how much would the 13t be?

anywhere between 22.00 and 30.00 dollar steel is cheaper and last longer than ali but sidewinders have lifetime warranty on there titanium ones and there chains too they have titanium rollers and pins dont know if the lincs are ti though best warranty but the price is up there but first quality i have never seen any racer they sponsor but thed know if is for real or not on the wear on there products

well seeing as how i have little to no money i think i will have to start working to get money. also does anyone know of any michigan xc races that are about 1.5 hours?

Where you at in michigan? I know they run xc races at the badlands in indiana which isn't to far from the michigan border.

715 11:1 big bore
+1 intake valves
Sredrums +3 throttle body
PCV
NGK BKR6EKPB-11 spark plug
K&N air filter w/outerwares,
Barker exhaust
PBI sprockets /D.I.D chain
Stage 3 Elka's on all 4 corners

South Lyon, near Ann arbor. How long are the badlands races. I know the d14 races are about 3 hours.
