Are those the DS 450 shocks? I was trying to keep an ebay alert for them and a set just got sold for $80 shipped!! If I had known I would have been bidding. Anyway, the white and red looks really nice!

Damn that was a deal for sure. I would of snagged them as well. Right now I'm still deciding what to do with 2nd quad. I don't need it, but if I keep it I want better suspension. 2nd time I took it out I ran a bit harder, and it bottomed out several times on some of the larger jumps. I said before if I knew, I would of kept my old ds-450 shocks and never spent the $1400 on the Elka's. They may not be quite as good as the stage 4 Elkas but certainly not $1200 worse, lol.

Yes sir, they are. And thanks for the compliment.

Quick, I liked your comparison of the DS450 and Elka shocks. Interesting way to put it about not being $1200 worse. I have wanted a set, but there is no way I will pay that kind of money for shocks. $1400 is almost half of what I paid for my 700xx and $550 less than what I paid for my 250R brand new.

Are you saying that it needs the hood for looks or performance? And I am fine with any suggestions as long you don't make fun of my baby poop yellow springs.

You can always get covers for the shocks if you don't like the yellow

The hood may look pretty good on that, but I do like the red grill too, it'd be hard to say which would be nicer.

I was able to live with them until someone, who shall remain nameless (name begins with a Q and is another word for "rapid"), pointed out that they were baby poop yellow. Got a pretty good laugh out of it. While I have been intending to buy some shock covers for some time now, I am much more motivated to do so.

If you want the hood, call riders discount direct and Talk to MIKE at 866-931-6644 ext 804 if you mention OhioRiders he will hook you up! We he might do it w/out the mention but if he mentions list price, toss the plug out there.

Update on paint job. Well, my paint job survived up until November of 2017. And it did not fail under normal use. It took my stupid, fat ass falling off a ladder (while getting Christmas decorations down) onto my quad to cause the damage. And for 270 lbs. falling on the left rear fender, the damage was not that bad. Now obviously, the paint did crack, but the fender survived. Needless to say, I was pissed, but I should be grateful that my Honda put itself in harms way to try and break my fall. Isn't that stupid? I was not relieved that I did not get hurt, but I was pissed off that I cracked the paint. Anyway, the paint job, in my case, was a worth while project. As stated previously, I am not gently on my ATVs. The paint job was able to survive everything I put it through. I should include that I do not ride on trails so narrow that branches or thick brush come in contact with the machine, but I do ride in dirt, sand, snow, and rocky mountain trails.
