got my quad need help

hello guys got my new quad today but have a few questions.
1st. how many tanks of gas shall i put threw as i am breaking the engine in.

2nd. in front of the engine behind the rad there is a silver/black round can shaped thing with a few pipes going to it......what is it ?

3rd the speedo i hate where the dealer as fitted this on my quad and need to relocate it to a better place. where do you guys have your speedos fitted. photos of your placement would be a great help.

Congrats!! Break-in - break it in the way your are going to ride it, just change the oil after first or second tank. The lower fuel tank as Honda puts it is where the fuel pump to the FI is located. Speedo - didn't come with a speedo.

Warlock pretty much covered it, ride it normally for breakin. You should avoid bouncing off of the rev limiter and lugging it for a few tanks though. In the old days they didn't hone cylinders as fine as they do now and breakin was needed to properly seat rings. Now days they hone cylinders with fine stones that don't really require ring seating time. The main objective for today's engines are to heat cycle the parts before giving it hell.

I have always been told to run a few tanks thru it at no more than 3/4 throttle. Now most of us know that when we get a new toy, we get overly anxious and wantto see what it has. I think the book says 15 hours of ride time, but I would recommend possibly not riding it like you normally would, but take it down a degree or two, and change the oil after a couple of tanks.
As for the speedo, I think you are the first one I have heard of having one come on there.
