Wifey's First Ride

I took my wife for her first ride today, I must say she did well. I almost messed up once not thinking about the extra wieght I hit it pretty hard in 2nd and stood her up Needless to say the wife was not impressed. Over all it was a great day she said she would like to get her own, so I think I will get her a 450r or something along those lines.

Depends on what type of riding you do. I had a YFZ450 but I trail rode more than anything and the high reving engine with no reverse just sucked.

I got my girlfriend a 250ex and that is working out well. She is new to the sport so the sport clutch on the 250ex is awesome and it still leaves her with enough power to pop little wheelies and do donuts and hit little jumps without too much worry of hurting herself. My buddy has one for his girl too and Ive actually seen her go through some pretty wicked stuff with that little thing. It is nice and light, easy to handle and very forgiving. Plus I got hers in Dec brand new '08 model for $2700 out the door. As for a 4x4 the Grizzly 350 or the Wolverine arent bad options either.

I purchased a 420 Rancher for my wife when I got my 700xx. It works great for her with the 4wd and the power steering. It is also helpful if I need to be pulled out of somewhere, like very deep snow.

Get her the 700 and drop a tooth on the front sprocket that slows it down a little and picks up the low end power not that it needs it, My wife rode mine finally for her 300ex and now I have to bey her a 700xx she was in Honda yesterday looking (Oh Well LOL ) she decided the power to get up the hills was so much better , Besides the 450r is a racer so it will have a lot of power and speed maybe a 400ex woud be your wifes speed,
