Ford F-150 Short Bed and 700xx

I am looking to buy a '15/'16 F-150. Without having to order a new one, it is very hard to find one with the 6 1/2' bed. All I can find have the 5 1/5' bed. I found one '13 with the 6 1/2' bed and someone already had a deposit on it. I also pull a bumper pull travel trailer that has a short tongue length. I am guessing that the 700 will barely fit in the bed and possibly the rear tires will maybe sit on the lower area where the tailgate hinges. Does anyone carry one of these in the bed of a 5 1/2' bed without the tail gate? If the tires must sit on the tail gate, it will contact the trailer on sharp turns. Beginning to think I may need to go to the F-250 and get the 6 1/2', but I really don't want a F-250. Even the Chevys with the standard 6 1/2' bed are hard to find. Any ideas greatly appreciated. dm

if you do this a lot and run short trips, and have some extra cash check this link out. There's no way I'd want to ride the Trx700xx up one of these rigs, with out a nice hill side, to level it out some. lol But for a extra $500 I see they have some nice ramps that should make it easy.

M-Quick- Thanks but no thanks. I heal to slow. lol. Just running it up a ramp into the bed is bad enough. However, this looks like it would save the back window, which I have seen happen.

And I'm guessing you don't want a full 8' bed? Not sure where you've been looking, but I've setup alerts on and they've worked pretty good for finding exactly what you want (as long as people enter the information correctly).
