Stolen Trailer

About 10 days ago my atv trailer was stolen from in front of my garage. I had 3 locks on it, one cable, a chain locked wrapped around a fence post, and one on the tongue. The car lot near me had the thieves on video. It was around 2:30am and it took them around 30 mins in all. They just pryed the tongue lock off. Cut my cable lock, that was through a wheel and wrapped around the trailer frame. And they pulled the the fence post out of the ground, that had the chain lock on it.

My wife posted pictures of the truck they used to steal the trailer, along with a video. Within a week a friend of a friend tipped us off on the location of the truck. We made several trips by the house, finally the garage was open but no trailer in side. There's no doubt this is the truck that was used to steal my trailer.

The local pd has assigned a detective to the case. Yesterday he was over there taking pictures of the step van used to steal my trailer. And today the detective contacted us for the video. He said after he has it, he will start questioning people over there. The time stamp on video feed is 40 mins fast.

I hope the evidence will lead to an arrest and the return of your trailer. I hate a thief. You should post some pics of the trailer too. I can send them to my cop friend that is over Medford OH.

I can't seam to locate any good pictures of my trailer. But you won't see many with the e-track system on them. Trailer is also has or had a tongue box installed. So if missing there will be holes drilled through frame. Also has holes drilled through top front bar where i had another box installed once. And original safety chains where broke, I drilled through frame to bolt new chains but never installed them. The e-track system was bolted through the frame in spots. There is either a screw or bolt every 2 to 3" so if they go to trouble to remove all the screws and bolts, there would be several holes in each outside wood piece.

Cop friend? Can they by any chance run a dealer tag, and let you know where it's register'd too? Cause these people have a dealer tag on a Yukon we seen over there, and also same tag on a pickup a few days later.

I doubt he will, if the tag comes back with a hit, and they don't actually have the person to pick up, its bad Ju Ju for the dispatcher....or whom ever is running the tag.

I can ask but I think Rappy is right. I ran into that sort of thing trying to have my VIN run when I had the atv stolen 2 years ago, They (the police) are not suppose to run numbers unless they are physically looking at a suspected stolen vehicle.

Yea, they can loose their access to run tags. It seems to me that the local department would do that during the investigation.

Yeah they may run the other tag, I know they already ran the truck used to steal trailer. Even if they run the other tag with dealer plate, they won't tell me where the car lot is. Hopefully they will go there and look for the trailer.

If you know where the vehicle is...slap a GPS tracker on it......
