First Ride review

Well I finally got my first real ride in on this quad. Found an overgrown home made motocross track and some trails on private property. Got permission to ride and had a ball! I was anxious to try out this independent rear end, and I was thoroughly surprised. I could spin out and whip a shitty with ease, no rolling over or tippy feeling at all. Jumps were very plush and stable. This quad flies straight. Granted I was not flying high or far, but it was nice and smooth none the less. Im excited to try my new rear sway bar I ordered from the member on here to see the difference, but I was very happy with the performance of this rig stock. I did notice that its a short shifter, I can shift up and down whithout ever pulling in the clutch. I did use the clutch but I didn't need to, not sure if that's an issue or not. IT stayed in gear just fine and it does shift, but the throw of the shifter is very short, its smooth, so maybe its designed that way. Have new tires, sway bar, front bumper and shocks on the way, cant wait to get them all installed.

Over all, I really like this quad. Cant wait to get out and ride again.

Mine is bone stock. I wanted an XX because the engine is loosely based on the XR650R (best bike I ever had). The stock XX runs very similar to the way my XR did stock. Which is good because the XR was an absolute beast once I got the jetting right and opened up the Airbox and exhaust. I am going to order an EHS fuel controller, and probably mod the Airbox myself. I think I am going to leave the exhaust stock though. A loud pipe doesnít hold the appeal it once did for me.

I have the rear end apart right now. I read some horror stories on this forum about the rear ends coming undone. And it sounds like by the time you see the first sign of trouble, the damage is done. Mine looks like it is in good shape still, so thatís good. This problem surprises me because it is very unlike Honda.
