Thinking of buying a 4x4

I need some help deciding on what 4x4 to get , pros/cons, the only one I know to stay away from at the moment is the Polaris Sportsman, thinking about ethier a Brute Force, Rincon, King Quad or Grizzly, I know alot would say Honda, but anyone ever have any of the others and how did they run ?

Grizzly and Brute force are you best bet. My buddy boought a brute force 750 yesterday and it has definitly got some power. More so than the grizzly i think as far as bottom end grunt but both a really nice machines, I just like that v-twin growl

I had a 07 Pred, ran good, but ball joints kept going, shredded the splines in rear hub, electrical problems replaced all the bearings and bushings on it before something in the motor went, i got rid of it.

My friend got a 05 Pred, he had the ball joint problem, but his one of the gear snapped and got stuck in rev, 1 month later the crank started going, so he got rid of his.

I heard of problems with the belts on the sportsmans, plus i didnt have luck or seen anyone with luck with one, so i rather steer clear of Polaris.

I'm buying a used 4x4, not going new at this point, looking to spend between 3500-4500 on one, or else i would go for a Renagade.

Can Am Outlander is the quickest, Rincon handles the best, the Grizzly is a happy medium between the two. I tend to stay away from Polaris, AC, and, Kawasaki. Just my opinion from my personal experiences, everybody has different ones.

for the big 4x4s, I have a rincon that is lifted and whatnot. Got it for cheap, so I can't complain. My cousin had a brute 750, and that was nice, w/ plenty of power. I think the honda was more comfy IMO, but the Brute def had a lot more power stock (I have the big 3 on mine plus some LOL). Can't say much about Yamaha, and the polaris problems have gotten better w/ the belts slipping but I'd still shy away from them. Overall, what are you going to do w/ the 4x4 is the main question. B/c there are so many factors to consider. If you are gonna be hauling a lot (trailer/whatnot) I would probably try to get one w/ a manual tranny as the CVT's aren't the best for that sort of stuff. But if you're looking to go mudding or something, any of those 3 would be fine, throw some mudlites on there and have a blast. A lot of people like the idea of power sterring offered on some of them, but honestly, I think it is just something else that will break. If you are lookin for some deep mudding and stuff, Arctic Cat has the one w/ a snorkel already built in as well that I haven't heard anything bad about yet.

2008 700xx; Power Bomb header with power core 4 exhaust, Power Programmer III, pro armor nerfs, prm products control front and rear bumpers and full skid, 10" ITP rears, ITP Baja's fronts, RZR 2's all the way around, Uni filter, 13t sprocket, CCP steering Damper, DS450 shock swap, Dual Gasser Throttle, bar risers and Moose barkBusters. 730XX kit plus other engine mods!

im a rookie at this too but was thinking the same thing that maybe a 4x4 better suits my style. so i was looking at the renegade but its pricey. the artic cat has a few nice models. as far as polaris goes i have a rzr-s and love it it goes anywhere with no problems at all so theres always that option. i really am leaning towards the artic cats tho the prices are decent and theyre supposed to have a sh!tload of power
