Any Mountain Bikers?

I'm looking at purchasing a mountain bike that can withstand my big a**... I've seen some but at ridiculous, well at least to me, prices.. 1k-6k... that's another quad!!!... any good bikes at an affordable price out there? what brands/models are better for the heavier and taller guys? i'm not planning on doing anything crazy with it, just for exercise... any information you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are looking at full suspension bikes since your getting over 1k in price? If you don't plan on doing anything crazy I would look into front suspension only. I have a specialized hardrock sport that was right under 400. This was a base model but nicer bikes can be had for under 1k. I can still take mine on some small jumps. It is good for exercise! It's one thing that has prevented me from passing 200lbs since I got in my late 20's haha.
