Forum Suggestion

We like to travel and I always take the ATV. It would help if when you talk about places you ride, etc. that you would not only give the name but also the locataion. Just knowing the name of the place is not much help in locating many of these unless it is a very well known place throughout the ATV world. I was just reading a post where it mentioned some dunes at Amagrosa. But he added that it was 60 miles north of Las Vegas. That really helps. Just my 2 cents worth...

Agreed. I move more than a hooker with a heroin addiction and it's always hard to find out where good riding spots are.

I use a free online resource called "rider planet"
The first link below is for their home page... Then click on the state you're interested in on the map OR the state name below the map. That state's list will come up... second link (Nevada) Then scroll down to the area of interest and click on "view details" You'll be taken to a page with pics and info for that area with location. I actually just did that for the area you mentioned and that's the third link. OR from the state page you can click on "map view" to see what riding areas are near by where you are or plan to go.

Did I mention that it's free? You don't even have to be a member or anything.

I don't think that you or I can ADD a place... probably only the site's powers that be can do that. From what I've seen there over time tells me that not all areas are listed. I think that only what may be best termed as "official" areas are listed. I've found that there are many places here in Northern California where it's FS land are not listed because they are not actually official OHV areas even though it's legal to ride there. Given that particular limitation, the site is still quite useful.

The video on the site where we ride dunes is very out dated. The parking area and shelters were plowed up about 5 years ago. Also, some of the data is not correct. But the link is a good one and will be very useful. Thanks

Yeah that always concerns me when the last pictures they have on their site are from some ride that happened in 2007....
