had a bad accident

As it says, I had a bad accident with a circular saw last night. I've got a gash on my right femur that is 9 inches long and 1 1/2 deep. I'm not sure how it happened other than the guard didn't close on the saw and it grabbed something and kicked back. The Dr. said she used 75 stitches. I guess I wont be riding for a little while.

well glad to hear your ok but, this pic

If you look closely at my blue foot, I had arch surgery 2 pins, a screw, a plug and 13 stitches. the calf length cast didn't stop my wife from making me plow snow....JK this was 3 weeks after the operation
75 stiches try not to move it! very easy to rip it back open and leave a terrible scar. i found that Aloe vera ointment helps the healing and minimizes scaring.
Get well soon

quadmonkey700xx,
Good grief!!!! Man, am I glad it wasn't even worse than it was. I get chills every time I use one of those saws. My biggest problem is not puting a new blade in soon enough. Kick back is always waiting especially when a knot is hiding under the first ply of plywood.
Get well soon and take "Snowshoes'" advice and try not to move it too much.

Wow sorry to hear about your accident! And I'm familiar with W.V. How far away from the nearest hospital were you? I'm glad you, or you had someone with you to help stop the bleeding before you got to the ER. That kinda of cut you could of bleed out fast. Get well soon, and I guess the Quad wars in Tn is out this year.

Hey M quick I live 15 minutes out of charleston, so several hospitals that close. You know believe it or not It bled very little. I clot quickly, always have. And I am well trained in emergency first aid, so I knew how to react and didn't panic. Also the good Lord was watching over me and I didn't cut any major arteries. No I wont be riding for a little while, but I am healing well and walking is almost pain free already. I still have to limit how long I am up moving about, but I hope to return to work maybe Monday. I may have to wait a little longer as I work In a wastewater treatment facility. My dr said if the wound has completely sealed by then she is ok with me going back Monday.

Btw M Quick sometime when you are coming in to you family's place to ride if you would like some company, give me a shout. I think I am about two hours from there, so no big deal to run down and ride with you guys for a day.
