Yamaha 700 4X4

Well it looks like Yamaha has a leg-up on the 4X4 Sport Quad world. The latest dirtwheels magazine has a much abbreviated article on the testing that Yamaha is doing on their prototype machines. Appears that until it is finalized, the design is still not solidified. There is talk about shaft drive for the 4Wheel part but nothing definite what the rear is going to look like. Additionally, it could be IRS or solid axle and may have a CVT or a conventional transmission. Everything still not decided on. Read the latest magazine for as much detail that is available at this time.
Honda, get with it.

Sid, I just don't think Honda is too vested in atv's anymore. They've got too many irons in the fire. They seem to have put sport/recreation on the back burner. Honda vehicles are definitely their bread and butter and main revenue generator. They started making mowers and generators and just got out of the atv race it seems. It sucks for sure!

I don't have a subscription anymore, but will be interested to see what is being released. If Yamaha produced a 4x4 IRS version of the Raptor I would be first in line to get one.

All,
Yes, it could be an April fool prank but I wouldn't count on it.
If this comes to pass, I would seriously consider it. I am overwhelmed with the quality and durability of my 05 660 Grizzly. My 09 Polaris RZR S is questionable at best with its poor design and quality or lack thereof. Of course the 700XX is pretty much perfect except for the suspension which I corrected with Elka Shocks.
