Utah Sept or Oct 2011
Ok so I know this is far out but this trip will take a lot more planning so I am putting it out there now. I have a guy who will haul the quads out and back from the NJ/NY/PA area. We would meet at one drop off to ship them and pick them up. What I want to figure out is who would be interested. I am trying to get the shipping between $300-400 each quad, airfare looks about $400 then theres the stay. We might look into RV so we can travel on the fly to different places or spend a few days at a few different areas. We can rent u-haul trailers to haul our quads. So the goal is $1500 for airfare, quad transportation and place to stay. It being over a year away it would be easier to save...put would be a great time!
Let me know if any one thinks they would be interested or has any info to offer

WAR doesn't determine who's right just who's left

Yeah would be much less if we could drive but to take up 4 days for driving is a waste! Rather spend more to enjoy the riding time

I'll start saving once we come back from TN. That time of the year is the best time to go, not too hot or cold so we could ride the dunes without worrying about getting too hot then we could ride the Pauite trails and enjoy the leaves falling off the trees. Would suggest to rent a RV with trailer since the Dunes and Trails are about 80 miles apart and @ the dunes there are no hotels/motels to stay at. Also where usually I park for the Paiute trail; again there's no hotels/motels. Of course we could find some around the cities and take off from there. Usually there's a big Jamboree in Filmore, UT either in Sep or Oct and this is real big which is sponsored by Rocky Mountain ATV. http://www.atvutah.com/southern/paiute.htm

I'd like to join you all. I can haul myself and my quad... Utah is not that far for me anyway. RV sounds good once we're all there though. It would be about damn time I actually got to meet some of you anyway.

Let me know what you guys are planning. I'm sure I'll come along for some of the fun albeit I live out here lol. I've lived in northern AZ and UT for the majority of my life and know some fun riding area's out here. My wife and I also have a spare bedroom that anybody's welcome to come crash in if they need to save a few $$. Nash is right about nowhere to stay at the dunes. From my house loaded it takes a little over an hour to reach the dunes to ride. Also there are some great trails just west of Utah Lake called 5 mile and up in Heber, UT at soldier summit you can ride on top of the mountains up there and it's pretty breathtaking to look down at the cities below.

I'll also need to look into getting some trailers to haul our bikes between Little Sahara and Paiute. Have some friends that live in SLC and they might be able to help me out but I'll wait till next year to ask them. Also would be nice to have either a SUV or 6 pax truck so when we need to run for food, beer, beer, beer,lol! and firewood, it will be easier to do so with a truck instead of hauling the motorhome.

Xstriker;
When you have a chance and nearby Kanosh which is South of Filmore, can you check out my old camping spot? You go thru Kanosh until you hit Com Creek Road which will be on the left coming from the North, once you are on that road, you stay on it for a mile or two, basically until you pass over a bridge with a creek under it, you'll notice prior of the bridge a dirt road on the left, stay on it for about .25 mile and you'll see an opening on the right besides the creek, that's one spot. The other spot which is much bigger is right after the bridge on the left. We should be able to park a couple of motorhomes and trucks there easily. Now I haven't been there since the late 90's but nothing really changes there so we should be ok to park there. You can hit the Paiute trail from there by staying on that dirt road until you see the markers. There's no hurry since we won't be there till next September. Thanks
