XC Racing

Has anyone XC raced a 700XX yet? I would really like to know how it performed under racing conditions. I've been searching the web and can't find anything other than the BAJA.

Yes ,you can . I have done and loved the 700xx. I will be doing more XC next year. The only problem I have is tyre selection , as Maxxis do not import there tyre to the UK. You'll love it, it's so much fun dodging trees.

Mike, I have dont quiet a few harescrambles on the 700. The reason why you wont see it in the GNCC events is b/c of the limitations in the rule book. This weekend, well today actually, there is a GNCC race in Unadilla NY, which is teaming up with WNYOA, so people can race the 700 there. I would of gone but I can't really get out of work. Anyway, I came off a 450, and to me, I can ride the 700 longer because it is more comfy, but not nearly as maneuverable as the 450, or as nimble.

2008 700xx; Power Bomb header with power core 4 exhaust, Power Programmer III, pro armor nerfs, prm products control front and rear bumpers and full skid, 10" ITP rears, ITP Baja's fronts, RZR 2's all the way around, Uni filter, 13t sprocket, CCP steering Damper, DS450 shock swap, Dual Gasser Throttle, bar risers and Moose barkBusters. 730XX kit plus other engine mods!

I just raced GNCC today in NY in collage B class today. I tricked the tech inspector and made it look like my kill switch works even tho it doesn't. Didn't notice any other 700xx's there either. I raced with the mods below and didn't finish. On the first lap, I hit a small tree and bent my right tie rod. I still road it for 3 laps but steering it was too hard and called it quits. The most important mod on any quad is a steering stabilizer which thankfully I had even though the bars got ripped out of my hands anyway. Knowing what I know now, I would have done the rear shocks before engine mods. I'm about 135lbs and there was just endless whoops and the rear kicked the whole time. More power is nice but suspension is sooooo much more important. I kept up with the people in my class for a while but my arms got really tired quickly from fighting the steering. If you really want to race gncc, just buy a 450, they're much lighter better for tight woods. But you can still have fun and keep up on the 700xx. My next mods would be re-valve rear shocks and texiera tech upper front a arms for quicker steering. Doing that will that will be enough to stick with my class for the entire race.

TRX700XX. How did you like the track? Again I am sorry I couldn't show up, it could of been fun. Wait until probably tomorrow and then tell everyone how wonderful your body feels LOL. IDK if you really raced this hard before, but if you haven't, you'll def. know you did come tomorrow. You couldn't of had much more time left did you? Did they end up using the whole MX track this time (like probably 80% of it?).

The track was very tough but im sure it was better for the am race. There was a lot of deep whoops and ruts. The motocross track was awesome with elevation changes and gravity cavity, I think they used the whole track but not sure, wasn't really paying attention to that. I'm surprised how well the 700xx did on the track plus it was my first time on a real track. I was able to drift the turns and air it out like the 450's. However, I am definatly feeling it today. The handlebar hit my right thigh pretty hard when I hit the tree and got a small limp. My arms and shoulders are just as tired but my back hurts the most partially from previous football injuries. According to the gncc web site, I did three laps in 1:14:37 but can do a lot better without a bent tie rod.
