Tell me now...what's the best method for getting an E-start hole shot?? What's the secret to hitting the start button..then full throttle starts?

Do't try it with the clutch lever in and shift lever in 1st or 2nd.It doesn't start to quick.
I learnt clutch lever in and my foot ready to go for 2nd gear as soon as it fires up.
Don't touch the throttle. Let it fire up first. IMO.

I always leave it in first gear clutch in, warmed up and punch the gas as soon as it fires off.

But I'm planning on practicing this weekend with different methods to help me out this year in racing.

In our racing we have to have the engine off and start when the flag goes up then launch.

I wish we could stay running. At least we get to stay sitting on the bike. At Gold Rush we had to stand in front of it with both hands on the bars, then when the flag raised we had to step around, get on, start it and go.

Can you leave the key on and the pump primed? Never in a dead start.

Yeah we leave the key on.

I haven't had an issue starting in gear yet, but Sunday the person to my right got a slight jump on me but you can't beat the 700's straight line power. They took off just a second before I did (probably carb'd and set up right so it fires faster) but once I got rolling I flew by everyone, rounded the two trees in the lead then took off into the woods riding a small wheelie.

What I do is stall the engine by letting out the clutch in first gear. We have a hands on helmet rule in the Iowa Harescramble series. I put my hands on the lower part of my helmet and then when he says 10 seconds I count down and watch his board. As soon as it moves my hands are on the bars I pull in the clutch hit the magic button and it usually fires right up and I'm off. I did this with my old LTR450 with the same success.

Do not turn the key off or shut it off with the kill switch.

I once had a race where I didn't have the key on and lost about 10 seconds on the start until I realized what I did.
