What up Gents. I've been lurking around for 4 or 5 months now and I finally found a good deal in my area. Picked her up a couple days ago. 100% stock
I was fully aware of the extra weight of the bike (which I couldn't really tell from riding it around the subdivision), but I was pleasantly surprised at how compact the cockpit feels. Being only 5'-5" and 150 lbs, I swear the 700 doesn't feel that much bigger than my 250r. We'll see if that changes after my trip to Brimstone at the end of the month. I'm actually more of a dirt bike guy, but all they guys I ride with are getting fat and old and have transitioned over to sport quads (and side by sides), so I had to join them.
Being partial to 2-strokes, I started with an 88 250R. It's been super fun, but I'm ready for a bike with electric start, reverse, and a headlight.
I went ahead and bought a few things based on what a lot of you guys recommended on here:
Uni Air Filter w/ outwear
PRM Class 1 Bumper
PRM Nerf Bars
Kenda Kutter XC Rears - 22x9x11
Kenda K580 Kutter XC Fronts - 22x7x10
I'm hoping to score a set of DS450 shocks in time to have them for my trip at the end of the month, but I guess I can be patient and wait for a deal.
I appreciate all ya'lls info on here. Good stuff.
