Hi everybody

I am from Cardiff, United Kingdom. I have a 500 cc Honda private car for a couple of years. Now a days it's consuming more fuel. I don't know what to do next? Should I sell the car and replace a new one? I am very much happy to join the community. Thanks to all of the engineers and staffs of this forum. David

As for your car... 500cc is real small, I'm thinking that it's probably quite old in which case you're probably looking at a full re-build of the motor... Then you'd have to look at your options... Is the car worth the cost of doing the re-build?

Hey according to my slide rule that would be a .05 liter engine, he must mean a 500cc quad.

It'd be a .5L engine. That'd be a 30.5 cubic inch engine. Wowzers.

right i meant to type 0.5... no since in editing now. But I'm sure it's a language barrier and he has a 500cc quad. the smallest motor I ever had in a car was a 1.8L I called it a 1.nothing! lol but it got 34 mpg and was 84 sunbird. with dohc, 5 speed.

I'm thinking of the old original Honda Civic of the late 60's... don't know the size of the motor, but it was the smallest Honda car I'd ever seen. You know at that age, the motor has to be worn out, hence my suggestion that he might be looking at a complete re-build. The question would be: What would he get after the re-build... A 50+ yo car with a fresh motor? AND Would that 50+ yo car be worth the cost of the re-build?

Another thing: Many auto companies produced autos that were made for Europe, Asia, South America and were never sold in the U.S., so it could be a model we've never seen.

Very true Doug, I've even seen Ford cars and trucks in Europe and Asia I've never seen here. Like a focus Diesel, or a supercrew Ranger with a diesel.

Many people don't know this but VW made the old original VW Bug up to a few years ago... but not for sale in the U.S. The last plant was in Mexico and they were used as taxis... Hail a cab in Mexico City and you'll get a green and white VW Bug.
