Air box lid and EHS question

I just installed the EHS kit to the lid of my airbox and was wondering if people have been leaving the baffle (attached to the under side of the lid with 4 screws) off, since the air entering is now being pre-filtered. If so, is there any power gain associated with doing this?

That shield sits very close to the filter, so I would imagine it blocks airflow. With an EHS lid I'd say remove it.
