HIDs or LEDs

I have seen where several people have posted that they added HIDs to their XX, I had them on my Rincon for years, but am wondering where you mounted the ballasts at on the XX. It is really tight in the light housing area.
I put a set of HIDs on my 2012 Can AM Outlander 800R XT but had nothing but issues with them skipping out or just stop working in water, nothing helped.

Has anyone tried or found a good set of OEM replacement H6M LED bulbs? I went to LEDs on the Outlander but they aren't very bright or cast the light very far, hence why I have a 10' Rigid SR LED (low beams) and 20' Rigid SR LED light bar (high beams) now on it.

I did add twin Rigid Dually Spot LED lights to the XX but hate the yellow (OEM bulbs) and true white (LED) light clashing together.

Any suggestions or recommendations on LED bulbs or where to mount a HID ballast on the XX would be appreciated.

This thread has some info on it:

I'm not sure if it was there or somewhere else, that I read about someone using silicone to mount the ballast so that the vibration/water didn't kill it. I haven't used HIDs before, so I'm not sure if the ballast produces heat. If so, covering it with silicone might make it worse.

I have hids.. where you ignnition key is, on the opposite side of the quad is a similar shaped plastic with a hollow underneath.. I cable tied the ballast to the frame under that bit of plastic !
the advantage of hids is they are much smaller for a given lumens (light output)
A pair of bi xenon hids in the headlights are more than enough to ride like you stole it on the trails at night..
