Help with aftermarket k and n filter
I have a 2009 700xx. I purchased the k and n air filter. It is the correct one. But it does not fit. The sleeve on it is 3.25 Id. While inside the airbox which is factory stamped honda.. has a OD of 4.25. My k and n is 1 inch to small diameter wise to fit. What am I missing here..

wrong one . you need a 4'' . k&n is not the best to use in every situation . paper is really the best but you'll pay havoc tiring to find one .

Agreed... the K&N filter allows too much fine dust through.

the k&n should slide over the fitting easily... I have one.. Even with outerwear it still lets dust into the intake manifold !
I dont rate them at all as making bigger holes to improve airflow is not a good solution!

I wouldn't dare run anything else every builder and Wayne himself told me not too.. I got dirt in the rings at the 2014 Baja 500 with a UNI though... Noticed a little white smoke when I got home so I checked the filter and it was trashed at the drain plug which was either removed or lost along the way.

this is what I did for my LTZ400
the basic components
works great on the ltz an the filters are relatively cheep. I did make a bigger one but the smaller one works just as good
