pissed I knew something was wrong...

Remember how I said my machine was acting dumb and I was going to get a hydro clutch? ya? Well I finally got tired of the Honda guys saying nothing was wrong so I told em to take it apart and see what they could see... yep, due to lack of free play in my clutch (didnt I ask them to fix that several times?) my clutch is molten piece of organic material... costing $400+ to replace... WTF?
This sucks...

whats the story behind this? there was no free play in the clutch? this should be covered by warranty if its nothing you did.

They had the regional Honda tech over... he turned down the warranty in person... a$$hole.. It seems Honda does not like to honor warranties.. so I am going to see about getting a refund of the $600 for my extended warranty...
I PMd Wayne about his clutch kit... there is no way that Honda is going to get money for a clutch when they should have covered it....

Just curious but when you say clutch free play.
Play between the clutch itself or cable ,lever free play.

I think they mean the cable...
Back story:
I bought it... (duh)
to release the clutch you would have to make the lever go to more then 3/4 the possible extension for the clutch to release... (which is wrong) I tried to adjust the cable to make it release it 30-45% of possible but it would only go to about 55% (not touching the lever at all is 100%)
So I brought it to the dealer that I bought it from, and they claimed it was my parking brake pressing against my clutch cable and they cleaned the small amount of dirt out of the area in question. Worked ok for all of 15min with me riding it. I tried again, and the damn thing wouldnt go proper. So I changed to another local dealer... (a powerhouse dealer which is supposed to be the biggest dealer around. THey played with it and called it good. worked ok for a while but still acted up under hard throttle... grrr. So I try to adjust again, still no dice... I finally get to the point where I know it has to be fixed and that maybe Honda will pay for something that has not been right since I bought the machine... But no.. no they wont.damn Honda.

hmm... this is definitely something they should be covering. what was the reason they denied it? how are they blaming you for it not working? additionally, they already knew there was a problem when you first brought it in.

I dont think you're doing it right... I think you had the cable too tight, thinking that you were adjusting where the pressure is completely removed from the disks but thats not the case... all that does is take up the slack in the cable to the point the lever is just barely touching the pressure plate, which of course has to be adjusted to take up the slack from the wear of the clutch disks/plates... With the cable so tight, the pressure plate was partially released and with riding it like that allowed the disks to slip burning them up...
