HELP Fuel pump, filter, injector

I am working on my 700 that has been in storage a few years now. Replaced pump with new side design fuel filter. The pump does start up when I turn on. I have fuel from injector but it doesn't seem enough to start her up. When I bypass injector and place fuel in manually she will burn that fuel and then stop. Can anyone help please? I'm at a loss?
Thanks!
James

Honda changed the design of the fuel pump so that the filter now sits on the side of the pump instead of the bottom. It's suppose to work better

Where did you buy this new fuel pump? And you say Honda changed the design? None of the parts houses i buy from show a different pump. Part# 16700-HP5-602 Yours may not have the right pressure that the oem had, and the trx700xx needs.

16706-HN8-305. This is the part number I replaced it with. Today I can reinstall the old one to see if that works.

So. I have fuel feeding from the injector and it still won't start. Could I not be getting enough pressure from the pump? And how would I be able to tell?

Should be a pretty good spray coming out. I'd pull spark plug, then disconnect injector, put fuel line in a bottle. Turn on hit starter, and fuel should flow out pretty damn fast.

So I'm clear, you put the original pump back on right? If so why did you order the other pump to begin with. My guess quad wasn't starting...

Do you have a copy of the service manual?

I am also having trouble with my fuel system between the pump assembly and the injector. I was looking at buying this pump, will it work?
