Quiet EXHAUST

I am possibly looking into getting an aftermarket exhaust for my 700xx . However , sound is an issue and i want better performance with out an exhaust that puts out too many decibels or something that is extremely loud . I don't have a decibel meter so i am not sure what the stock decibel reading is but i wondered if anyone knows of or has an aftermarket exhaust that is under 95 decibels for there 700xx and if its worth it ? I didn't know if the performance gain is worth it by restricting the exhaust that much on an aftermarket pipe but noise is a issue in my area and i have to keep the decibels down to a respectful level . To me, if there isn't a huge performance gain with a low decibel exhaust system then i would stay with my stock one . I just wanted to know if anyone else has an exhaust like this and what there thoughts were on it performance and sound wise etc..

FMF Q4, Sounds great also. If my motor weren't built It's what I'd be using.

Stay with stock if you are that concerned about noise levels. If you "muffle" it down that much you wont be getting any gains out of it. My HMF QRS is pretty quiet IMO.

HMF Ballance QRS slip-on, HMF/Dobeck programmer, Velocity filter, EHS lid, Razr rear tires, 22" Razr 2 front tires, Pro Armor Fat Peg Nerfs, Pro Armor XC bumper, Fasst Flex Bars, Trail Tech billet logo clamp, PRM a-arm skids.

You guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but I spoke to Eric at EHSracing and he told me that the Barker full exhaust with the Quiet core still made good power, but runs at about 96dB. I went that route for when I ride at tracks and sites that require quieter exhaust levels. I haven't received the exhaust yet, but I believe that he knows best.

96Db is a decent sound level and most parks will accept that level so you'll be ok with that exhaust. the FMF Q4 is supposedly also very quiet but great performance. If you really worried about the sound then you should stay stock.

I seem to remember the Barker exhaust loses about 1-2 horsepower on top with the QC fitted.

I think with any slip on there is hardly a gain worth having compared to the price you pay for it. If it were me, I would spend the money on a PC3 and get a good map for a stock exhaust and UNI filter and drop a tooth on the front for more bottom end power. I want to say the most any slip on will give you is about 1hp at best.

quiet exhaust

I would be cool with staying with stock exhaust if a programmer would give me a little boost and also a better air filter set up . However , I think i could live with 96 decibels if i had too as well but i wouldn't want to be much over that and if the performance is minimial with that type of exhaust than i would stay with a stock set up .
