Programmer Newb!

So I will be the first to admit I know NOTHING about how to use a programmer as this is my first fuel injected bike. So I am a little weary of using them. That being said I love to modify my bike and have got intake and full exhaust and I need a programmer so I can put them on my bike safely.
So my question to you is which to get. I know everyone likes the PC3 but they look extremely hard to fine tune and need a dyno which I don't have... or I could rely on VeloceRaptor's maps (which I hear are amazing). But being new to programmers and very unknowledgeable am I better going with a more user friendly one like the EHS or FMF that is a little more user friendly and would suffice? Or the PC3, which has potential to be the best, but even with a newb at the helm? Any suggestions?

2008 TRX700xx
~ Modquad Intake with K&N Filter ~ EHS Racing Lid ~ Pro Armor Nerf Bars ~ FMF 4.1 exhaust with Powerbomb header

You'd still need to program and EHS efi... However, you might want to give Eric a call at EHS and tell him what mods you have and ask if he can pre-program their efi for you OR give you setting for your specific mods. I just installed their big 3 kit with the Barker exhaust and the efi came pre-programed for this setup. Very simple install.

It is easier to setup a PC5 (Forget PC3 as it is older, larger and costs the same as the PC5) and also you can get the autotune so no dyno needed. Also PC5 can add and remove fuel vs. the EHS/Dobeck programmers that can only add fuel. Just my opinion.

Ok....I am a new to the EFI controllers also. I see on the Power Commander web site that the PC V is only for 2009 and newer ATVs?? I have a 2008 700xx so what would be my best option?? get the PC 3 USB?? if so will I have to get my bike on a dyno or can I buy a "canned" map and install?? Should I just go with the ones like the EHS , FMF, Lexx, etc where it looks like you just "program" from the unit itself?? I am not looking to go super radical and try and squeeze out every last drop of HP/TQ but I would like to add a slip-on (maybe a full pipe), a aftermarket air filter / modded air lid. What I dont want to do is burn up the motor beacuse I added a slip-on / pipe and air cleaner and the stock EFI is not compensenating for the add-ons.

If plug and play can I purchase "maps" that will work with my combo of mods?? Do I have to buy the "auto tune" and start welding stuff on my pipe??

Sorry for all the dumb questions just trying to figure this stuff out....seems more complicated than my old 2 stroke where I just dropped in some new reeds, a slip-on and was on my way

Yes, IMO it's smaller and more versatile than the PCIII

Yes, you may have to tweak it though.

Maps are free, if you bring it to a dyno and they create a map for you, then that would be the means of you having to purchase it.

You don't *have* to buy autotune (I don't have it), but if you do then you would need an O2 sensor bung welded on.

Thanks Again Scuzz.......I am glad to know I can upload "maps" to it without having it dynoed...I do not think there is a dyno shop anywhere close to me. One last question, do you know any website or ATV stores where you can buy the "maps?" I looked on the Power Commander web site and they have very little / limited "maps" for download.
