Top Speed Limiter

So, we have an exceptional thread on getting rid of the reverse limiter on our XXs. I was wondering what it takes to get rid of the high end limiter. I don't think I've ever seen a post on this, and the database error isn't allowing me to do a search. Could anyone help me out with this? I run a lot of open roads to and from places that I ride and end up hitting this limiter at times.

You are hitting the rev limiter if you've done the reverse mod already.

I'm a little confused what you mean. I have not done the reverse limiter mod yet. Does this get rid of the top end limiter, too?

How did you manage the water and sand incident?

We were out riding and there was a low river running through that everyone went and drove around in. It was nothing to cruise around in but there was a deep channel running through it that you have to cross. There was a shallower area of it but I didn't know the area like everyone else so when we went to cross it again. I was waiting for someone to take me through the shallower area and they all went through a deeper area which I thought they were taking me to a place for me to cross easier. They all have 4x4s and went through it pretty easily and so I followed and hit an even deeper spot and I lost traction as I was trying to climb out of it. I should have killed it as soon as I found out it was as deep as it was but I thought I was going to be able to drive out. (Stock tires don't do so well on a sandy bottom when your rear end is almost floating, lol) Once I realized that I wasn't going to drive out I tried getting off the quad to lift the back up and push the quad out of the channel but when I let off of the gas, while still holding the clutch, she died on me and the airbox took a nice drink of water and sand.... I must say I did not have fun the rest of the trip.
But she's back from the dead now!

are you sure this gets rid of the rev limiter period? If so has anyone hit over 90 yet?

I don't think that the xx is capable of hitting 90 with the stock gearing.
