Exclamation 700xx overheating

Took my 700xx to kentucky to for some riding, and it would overheat. I cleaned the radiator free of mud, but that didnt solve the issue. I realized that my fan wouldnt turn on until my overheating light came on or unless it wasnt running. Has anyone else had this issue? Faulty oem Radiator maybe? What could be the problem with the fan?

Welcome to the club

What makes you think there's a issue with the fan? You did say it works while quad is running and while off.

So the fan doesnt turn on until it's already overheating, I dont think it's the fan, maybe a sensor that ties in with the fan

My 700 is stock, the IAT sensor measures air temp correct? Would that effect when fan turns on?

Me neither, I've owned my quad for 6 months about, I've never had it overheat until this past weekend, at first I figured it was the mud, but that was cleaned out and it still started to overheat when beating on the trail(avoided mud to test it) it took about 45 min for it to start to overheat though

Sounds good, where do you ride? I mainly ride in W. Va.

Have you check coolant level, and t-stat? If stat is good it may be time for a flush & fill. If you do that be sure to bleed the air out of the system.

My original quad was throwing a temp light awhile back, when my son was riding @Perry. Checked everything out, found no issues. So I chalked it up to him not shifting soon enough? Over revving the engine on a hot day, idk but it hasn't done it since.

I have had my 700xx for about 15 months. I have had it hot with out a doubt and the fan never came on. I have wondered if it works at all. I am planning to add a switch so I can turn the fan on when ever I want to,
