Needed a TON of clutch on my last trip...my hand got sore. I'd like a better clutch lever. Anyone upgraded to anything they like? I already got rid of the e-brake so clutch alone is fine.
I would say first make sure the cable is decent. I just replaced the clutch cable on the 400EX because my wife was complaining it was hard to pull and made a HUGE difference. Just disconnect the cable and see how easy it is to push/pull.
Back when I was racing GNCC on a 400ex replacing the clutch cable was a once per year job. It makes that clutch so much smoother. Motion pro use to sell a cable that worked a little better than OEM.
I tried to use the MSR raptor clutch lever which has a bearing in the pivot. It was actually worse than the stock set up on the 700xx so I put the stock perch and lever back on. If you find something better than stock let us know.
Doh! Have a brand new motion pro cable on...I extended mine. It is not harder than it was, but the throw is an unecessary reach and riding with 4wd belt drives they do weird shit requiring extra clutch work. That and a crap ton of water. Ducking wet this year.
