sad top end rebuild

So as some of you may or may not know my bike started burning oil. Anyways I got it to a mechanic today and I need all these parts:

head gasket
base gasket
piston
rings
pin
clips
con.rod
left gaskets
right gaskets

Now I have couple questions. I couldn't find the connecting rod in the schematics so do I have to get the whole crankshaft? Also he wanted to know if the cylinder was cast as opposed to ?

Crankshafts can be rebuilt with a new rod, but what did he say was wrong with yours? Too much play on the crank bearing, too loose at the wristpin? That seems pretty extreme for just starting to burn oil.

Never messed with the 700 cylinder, but I assume that it is a machined nikasil lined sleeve, not cast. I will let somebody who has had theirs tore down comment on that.

from what tho? the connecting rod cant be scored unless a bearing has let go, or some debris has flown around your bottom end, and from the list of parts you need i cant see either of these things happening

Im sorry I can't help with your questions but damn that sucks dude. What happened? Could your guy give a reason or just tell you what's wrong? How bad was it burning oil and what other issues caused you to tear it down?

Send the crank off and have it stoked while your at it. Throw a 11:1 piston in and a mild cam and call it a day.

I'd be wondering why you have to rebuild such a new engine, I've gone ten years of hard use on honda engines and never had to rebuild an they never used a drop of oil either.... what happend ?did you run a dirty or non oiled air filter or sink it in water or somthin?
