Thumb Throttle Play?

I'd say I got about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of play in my thumb throttle like something is a little loose.

How do I go about tightening it? It's not an issue I just don't like the feel of it.

You can take some tension out from the cable at the throttle control, pull back rubber covering. Loosen jam nut, unscrew until tight, retighten nut, recover. All right there on handlebars. If that's not enough, the same can be done at the throttle body.

1/4 to 1/2 is too much free play it should be 1/8 or less your lock nut must of vibrated loose surely your cable hasnt streched that much but anything is possible

You do want a little bit of play though. That way with your handlebars turned, it wont catch it pull the gas. 1/8 is about all it will take for that, and that should be the max like tbird said.
