HMF repacking

I was wondering if any of you have repacked an HMF muffler before. If so what packing did you use. HMF offers a rebuild service but I did not want to have to pay the shipping etc..

I looked on HMF's site and they do not show the packing individually.

Not that it matters but the muffler is not for my 700xx but my 87 yamaha warrior.

I haven't repacked an HMF. However, I've repacked other brands and they've been similar for the most part. Some mufflers have rivets, some have screws to hold them together. As for packing material, I prefer the pillow or yarn type packing (like shown in the videos below) rather than the stuff that looks like regular fiberglass insulation. IMO the pillow/yarn packing lasts longer, and is easier to install.
