Hmf competition slip on

Hi there so I've decided to go the hmf competition series slip on and I'm just wondering if I need an efi controller with that slip on. I'm not planning on getting that far with mods this year and just want a slip on to get a little more juice out of my bike. Ive got a 13t sprocket just haven't put it on yet. Just curious any feedback would be awesome thanks everyone. Also have a bar clamp thread that I would like some info on again thanks

Also I live in the great white north of manitoba and noise is not an issue. I used to run an old CanAm tnt250 that had no muffler and it was crazy loud and i run my xl250r with 8 baffle rings on it with a supertrapp exhaust but it just doesn't matter up here. Loud pipes save lives right. Thanks again

one thing you need to know is if you ever want to get a headpipe then you may not want to get the hmf slipon. you cant add a headpipe to there slipons .so you may want to get the fmf so can can add to it later if sound is all your wanting then go hmf. idont think youll need a controller with the slipon i ran a hmf on mine forever with no controller but it would be a good thing to have

I'd say you'd get more juice out of the controller than the slip on. And right now there's a good deal on a EHS used one some 1 is selling. I think $125ish? But as far as I know a controller is not needed for just the slip on. But the quad will run better with the controller, even w/o a new pipe or slip on.

i don't know if any of you have ever taken the end cap off the factory pipe but its a goofy design. at least it doesn't look very efficient. i think adding a slip on alone would increase the power a little. and Ive changed to after market full pipes b4 and i think the after market EFI i added same day was not necessary, definitely added power but don't think its needed just because i added a full pipe

You wouldn't want to run the quad with a full exhaust upgrade w/out the fuel controller! The trx runs lean enough from the factory, and adding a full exhaust without upping the fuel ratio is worse than play Russian roulette with your engine, no chance you would win.

the efi controller is a must because lean means runs hotter and hotter means top end wears out quicker thus far youll save in the long run if you keep your xx!

Yeah I'm looking at getting a Lexx controller. From what I've read they sound like it would be as good as any other really. They are all basically doing the same thing anyway. For half the price of the others. And what are the advantages of a full exhaust over just a slip on is it worth the money. I don't really want to go broke putting parts on I'd rather be riding it instead.

If that's the case, buy the controller save your money till you have enough for a full exhaust. Not sure what kind of price you were going to spend on the slip on, but there's quality full exhaust systems out there under $400.00
