this may not be a good comparison but have you ever been next to a harly davidson when in shifts? its a loud clunk, on some. my 700xx shift loudly, and it makes me nervous. wondering if all 700xx do this.

I would say that my 700xx shifts louder than my 400ex. I dont think t is exceptionally loud though.

Chevy HondaATV,
Mine shifts hard also. I try to warm up the engine a little so the idle isn't so high. It helps but the transmission is kind of "clunky". As long as my helmet is on and I have ear plugs in the noise doesn't bother me.

make sure you have the right amount of freeplay in your clutch lever 1/8 to 1/16 of play is good. 1/4 inch and over prolly doesnt engage the clutch like it should and therefore when you shift into first from neutral it will really be like an older harley and you are prolly messin up your tranny every time you rough shift it into first!
