clutch issues still!!!!

so my clutch was doing some pretty weird things so i pulled it apart and had on bad steel. i bought all brand new plates and put it back together today and having one of the issues still. with the correct amount of freeplay in the cable when i pull in my clutch lever and put it in gear the clutch is not dissengaged all the way. in order to get my clutch to work properly i have to tighten the cable alot, but then theirs no freeplay...... not sure what to do next. not sure if it matters but im using a protaper clutch lever and perch. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Not to be an A$$ but, did you put the clutch back together correctly? I had a Honda Shadow, replaced the clutch, reassembled it, it didnt work, pulled it apart again. The activating plunger was in backwards, worked fine after. No matter how hard you try Murphy is lurking around and he will usually get the part that requires the most tear down.

Its amazing how far a KFX 90 will fly if you go fast. 15' is her current record.

The cable is new this summer. It's a motion pro +2. Is it possible that the cable is stretching when I pull it?

If it is new I doubt it. just an idea. how long is the lever perch? it may be short. but if you weren't having a problem with the lever until you repaired the clutch my guess is its the clutch or something that was moved during dissassembly and assembly.

Was the basket notched from the fiber plates?

it happened while i was riding it one day, ive tried several different levers and perches, have a sunline on it now because i can adjust the handle out more so it pulls the cable more. basket was perfect, had a very very little bit of play on the ring gear. ive looked at it several times and then had a mechanic at the shop i work at look at it just to make sure i wasnt missing anything. the sunline perch assembly makes it better but its not the way it should be. i still cant run any free play. i have 3 stiffer and 3 oem springs staggered and they are VERY stiff, im kind of thinking this is my issue. their so stiff that when i pull the lever the bracket down on the engine that the cable runs threw flexes.

Oh man, there ya go. you might try 2 springs on oposite sides if you think you need the pressure, or getting a stronger bracket.
