Anyone seen this before?

I am doing a motor rebuild this winter mainly due to a high rpm vibration I have had. After pulling the jug I noticed these rub marks on the inside of the case. It appears to be in a spot that the large end of the rod may be rubbing the case. Is this possible? Has anyone seen these marks inside their case?
I will post some pics with red marks to highlight the points of rub.

rub marks means sloppy wore out bearing but as far as top of piston it looks like a rich 2 stroke piston?

Bearings feel good by hand. I grabbed the piston and held the rod with the other hand, applied push pull motion and also tried side pressure. Didn't feel any slop or pop. I think the bearings are still solid. That was my initial thought too. Figured the crank main bearings had to be loose allowing out of balance rotation resulting in striking the wall. Doesn't feel loose though.

tbird, have you been in your motor to see if those are common? Like a machining mark of sorts. It seems real odd to me. I'm really thinking thats from rubbing. The marks are not uniform and they don't go all the way along the case there.

My thought is this, are there any rubs oppsite from these or rubs on the crank or rod that line up with these? Is it smoothe and feathered? maybe from oil splash. or are they harsh like metal on metal? it look like they may line up with the edges of the connecting rod and the copper washers so it may just be from thrown oil.

Its amazing how far a KFX 90 will fly if you go fast. 15' is her current record.

I got the cases split and found out the rub marks are in fact from machining the cases after casting. My rod end has about an 1/8" of clearance all the way around. Just thought I'd let others know its not something wrong.

Question? Is that discoleration normal? Metalurgy tells me that that part is getting way to hot and may not get enough lube. I don't remember seeing it on any car or even snowmobile crank.

The discoloration is normal. Its from welding. If you buy a new crank it will have it to.

If you have a serious rub, you will start seeing it in your oil filter. On semi-auto machines it will pack up in the centrifugal clutch.
