Would it be ok to run HONDA HP4S synthetic 10w30 Motor oil in the 700xx?

Im not sure what weight motor oil I suppose to use in my 700xx as I havn't looked in the manual yet only had it changed at the dealer but was wondering if it would b ok and good to use HONDA HP4S 4-STROKE MOTORCYCLE OIL 10W-30 in it. I don't ride my 700xx muxh and dont have time to change to oil often in it and was wondering if switching to the synthetic would b safe to use and be better for my bike where i dont get to change to oil often. Thinking about switching to synthetic in my 680 Rincon and 420 Rancher at too. What do u guys think? THANKs!

As long as your oil is made to be safe for a wet clutch, you should be OK.

I was about to do the same thing, then went to the Honda shop and asked the guys in the service department about that. They said only run that oil if you want your clutch to start slipping. They said only run GN4.

Guys I'm here to tell you that it is ok to run the synthetic oil. Your clutch isn't going to slip because of the synthetic. You either already have an issue or your not using an oil compatible with the wet clutch witch is vital in these machines.

HP4S is the only oil I have ever run in both my 07' 400ex's and my 08' 700XX and they are all still on their original clutches. I have never had any issues at all. I change my oil ever 3-4 months. Better safe than sorry.

well if you come from a cvt trans ill give you a break but if not well thats what most rookie lever pullers do is abuse the clutch especially in them 13 tooth situations that i can use a 14 with the same results its just knowing how to be easy on the clutch some people never master it therfore they go thru more clutches, its easier to do if you started out riding a clutch at a very young ageis this your first manual atv?
