Engine noise

My engine starts to make kind of metallic noise
last weekend.
It makes that noise only when idle.
As soon as rpm's get little higher, noise is gone.
Can it be auto decompression?

Here is video from noise:

Any ideas?

Really hard to tell from the vid as audio is misleading..
Have you checked your valve clearances?

I havent check valve clearance yet but somehow i dont think that is the problem...?
I think that noise is different than too big valve clearance causes?
Noise appears only very low rpm's and when engine rpm raise just over idle noise is gone and engine runs very nicely without any noises.
Usually noise caused by valve clearance dont disappear like that?

I will check valve clearance off course, but i think that wont do any difference?

I would start with the valves. I didn't listen to the audio file. But I know mine were out just a tad and it was only noticeable when idling.

Hope not!
Engine had quite low hours when i hear noise first time last friday, about 50h.

I did ride bike 2 days after i find out the noise because i was in middle of rally raid race when i heard noise first time.

Everything works perfectly and engine runs strong so that noise seems to be very strange...

I really hope that i dont need to do full rebuild...
Even though rebuild will be good reason to get stroker crank and high comp piston etc ...

headscratch

it could be cam chain or tensioner wore out, valves, wore out piston slap,or crank or rod bearings check all that and maybe you will find whats wrong. the clutch basket bearing also, who knows!!!

Loose valve covers will make this noise, but they will leak a butt load of oil if they are loose.

Sounds like its the valve, it may need some re adjustments. Have it checked asap to avoid any further damage.
