Just curious if anyone has any suggestions for a good tire to use in the desert with mixed terrain. I already have the ITP SandStars which are good for the dunes, but paddles are terrible on hard-pack surfaces. There's too much floating from lack of traction, and it's really bad for the paddles.
So out here in this desert, I'm faced with big dunes with big, wide hard-pack valleys in between. I'm looking for a tire that's a good compromise. Right now, I pretty much have to decide what riding I'm going to do that day, and whether to run my SandStars or my stock knobbies.
My buddy has a TRX450R with a pair of AMS Zippers
and says they work pretty good. Any other ideas???
