Plus 1.5 inch front arms?

Does anyone make a set of front arms for the 700xx that are extended 1.5 inches per side adding 3 inches in width overall? I am running 10 inch rear wheels with itp tct tires and with the quad sitting on the ground the rear is measuring at 50.5 inches wide. The front is running xcts as well with a 3:2 offset on the wheel. The front measures at 47.75 inches wide while sitting on the ground. I want my front to be slightly wider than the rear so I need to make my front end 3 inches wider which means I need arms that are 1.5 inches wider per side. Does anyone make 1.5 inch extended arms? I am going to call around tomorrow and see if any of the shops will make a custom set. I also want them pushed forward an inch as well and I want to use standard length shocks. So I am looking for front arms that are plus 1.5" wide, plus 1" forward built for standard length shocks. Eventually I want the Teixeira Technologies stretched out long travel desert set up, but that is a few seasons from now.

In a quick search, the only place I saw that was selling standard shock a-arms for the 700XX is Laeger's. According to their website, you can get +1,+2,or +3's, and they did have an option for +1 forward. Might also try JD Performance, they might be able to build a standard shock a-arm, I know they make a long shock arm.

What are you doing for front shocks with your new arms? Keeping the stockers? I see you mentioned eventually getting Teixeira's desert set up. I have always thought you should just buy your suspension once and be done with it. If you are keeping the stockers, not sure how they will work with the new arms, I feel the oem front shocks are junk. If you plan on buying new front shocks along with your new front arms, might as well by the +2 Teixeira arms now. They are +1 forward and you are planning on buying shocks anyway. If that is the route you plan on going eventually, will save you money in the long run.

Thanks for the info guys. I just put on wheel spacers on my front end and I will be trying it out this weekend. This is just a short term test to see how the front shocks feel with the added length. I know the spacers will mess up my front steering and add bump steer but hopefully I will get an idea of how the front shocks might perform.

I really am considering just going all the way with the front end. The only thing I want to work out before hand is getting the rear to be the same width as the front or a bit slimmer. With plus 2" arms I would go back to 4:1 off set wheels and be right at 50" width in the front. My rear at the moment is 50.5" width with the DWT 10" wheels and XCT tires. I think the Kenda XCRs look a little skinnier from what I have seen online so maybe that is my answer. The rear XCT tires stick out from the wheel pretty far.

I'll let you know how it goes this weekend and I will try to post a picture of what my bike currently looks like.

I have the Teixeira Tech arms on one of my 700XX's, I want to say I am around 51.5" wide with 4:1 offset wheels. (Measuring sidewall to sidewall with me sitting on the quad.) I would say that the +2 arms will put you where you want to be. I don't recall the rear width I am running, but I think I am right around 51". Nothing wrong with being over an inch wider in the front then the rear, I actually run my 450R's like that.

Thanks for the info. I run my 450r 50" in the front and 49" in the rear. Seems to handle best this way.

wheel spacers is the cheap way out and not very reliable for competition, but if you are gonna use them recreationally then that might be a good choice ! they also change the way your existing shocks work too.

I agree with Doug. And if I were to do this over again I would replace the arms. But at this point I have to much tied up in standard length shocks. So I may have to try the spacers and then the 4:1 wheels. I hate to expose the brake caliper, not sure if this would even work? So do it once and do it it right...

The Teixeira Tech standard length upper arm's with Needle Bearing Upgrade: is on my list for tax refund spending...Since idt I can go with the plus anything w/out new shocks, errr!
