is this part moving on your 700xx

service manual page 447 , last picture . 2 plates and one collar ,
collar is suppose forward and backward for chain adjustement , my collar moves up and down by 1/8 , also upper collar is moving slightly down out of its place , what should I do , it makes annoying sounds ,

Just replace those parts and it should eliminate the up and down movement. Also check for play in the center carrier and the inboard joints. Something else may of been the cause for those parts to wear.
