Wheel question, buy stock or aftermarket...

Hey everyone. I just picked up a 08’ 700xx. My stock wheels are somewhat beat up or maybe I’m just being to picky.. but it bugs me! Lol. I was thinking of upgrading to a different size and offset to make it have a wider stance and to have more tire options, but I’m thinking that may not be the most budget friendly idea at the moment. I do have someone willing to just sell me stock wheels for around $225 and I could reuse my current tires but to me I’m just spending money for cosmetic reasons and I’d rather try to get some kind of handling/performance upgrades if I’m going to throw money at the machine for parts. So the question I have is—
Is that a fair price for a clean set of stock wheels? Or should I just ditch the stock wheel plan and go with something aftermarket? Or is there a more common atv out there that wheels would cross over from and fit on the 700xx? like maybe wheels off a 400ex or 450r? I know the 700xx has a unique rear suspension compared to other “sport” atv’s And a different offset rear wheel so that is why I ask about swapping. Sorry folks, I’m new too these atv’s And just trying to learn from everyone here. 700xx stuff seems to be hard to find in my area, so if something will swap over it would probably save me a bunch of money. So anyone with input or advice feel free to comment. I’d greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!

A lot of us have went to the 10 inch rear wheel. That way you can buy the GBC x c Master Tires, and you can find them cheap, Discount tire will match the lowest price found. I like the DWT Red lable wheels. I wouldn't buy OEM, they will just fold or bend on you, pretty easy. I have a set of those kenda kutter tires, and didn't like the fronts at all. They work good in mud, but not dry terrain. If you have the money OMF will add reinforced rings on the DWT wheels. And a lot of quads like 400 & 450s use the same size front tires. 10x5 4/144. Hope this helps.

Thanks, it does help! So what your saying is the front wheels and tires can interchange from other more common atv’s But the rear wheels will have to be bought specifically for a 700xx or used from a 700xx? I’ve had Douglas wheels on a blaster before when I was younger and I was pleased with them. Not
To be a pain but can you link me to the wheel and tire combo you are suggesting or tell me what size tires,’wheels and offsets to search for? Thanks in advance!

OEM rears are sorta odd ball because of the 11". If you want to widen up the wheel base some, for rears go with 10x7", 4+3 Offset, 4/144 Bolt Pattern. You will need to remove the mud scrapers, if there still there? For Fronts 10x5 3+2 offset, 4/144 bolt pattern. Here's a link to regular DWT Red label rear wheels.

As far as the OMF reinforced wheels, you'll need to call them direct and order. Here's a link to there site.

Tire size you can run what ever. I like 22x7x10 up front and 22x11x10" in the rear. I've had great luck with the GBC XC-Master tires. They are a Razr II tread clone, 6 ply tire. And there like 1/3 of the price! Here's a link to there site. I just got 2 front's from Discount tire for $78.99 on there price match, delivered!

M Quick thanks for all the awesome info! I really appreciate the help! I’m going to start looking into everything. It seems like removing the mud scrapers and running the 10” wheels is a better option for me. Thanks again!
