waving thinking about my x-mas gift to my quad: rear tires!

No no I don't buy my xx presents, but I do get something for me occasionally haha. I have been needing a new set of rear tires for the last few months, I still have oem and there toast. So there are a few good options out there I've seen and here are the 4 I favor most
23x8x11 itp mud lites
23X8x11 duro mud and sand
22x10x11 maxxis razr
22x9x11 kenda kutter
I have also heard good about the gbc dirt devil
I am looking for some thing that is stable in the corner (good strong side wall)and has good bite, I ride dunes without paddles some days and mountain (Rocky and muddy)terrain a lot so clean out and durability are key. I'm thinking a more aggressive tread would be better, i'm not sure about tire life or going to the 23inch tall tire though either. Any recommendations would be helpful!

I would not consider the top two, just because of the 8" width. The oem 9's are skinny enough if you ask me. So the Raz'r would be best imo, depending on price deference of the Kutter's.

Yea That is a good point I was hoping a few of the guys running them skinny tires would chime in to.ive never had the razr's or kutters, m quick do you happen to know what kind of tread life razr's get verses the kutter's? Is there any comparison thread I missed in my search ? haha and the price isn't really that big of a deal to me in this area. its an investment I don't mind making. Hopefully they last 2+ years with no problems like my OEM tires have.

until you get 10 inch rims you are very limited on tire selection, kutters and razors would be my only option them other 23inch x11 are designed for utility quads and really dont work worth a sh!t at high speed trail riding like i do, they be alright for drag assin around, kutters are great all around the wear is good and price is bette than razor. if you ride slow and mudbog then go with the utility tire!

I am leaning hard for the kutters. I did another search and just read back when it was hard to get these tires, back orders and such. But with the majority of club members liking and using these I don't think I can go wrong with them when summer rolls around I think I will get some razr 2's on the front as well to complete the set. How do the kutters do in sand? Im guessing pretty well being so aggressive

kutters do well in sand and so does the GBC X-REX 22-10-10,that is what im runnin in the rear and 22-7-10 kutter up front, they are 2 differnt brands but that combo works well for me! they are also 6 ply they dont flex as much as the stk dunflops!

I will take a look at them, going to a 10in rim. I have the adaptors to a 4 110 bolt pattern and I think I may run them and be a bit wider in the rear with my dirt tires. I like it so far with my paddles. in the future I want to have a set of rear diggers on good rims, regular dirt tires on the stock rims and my set of paddles. Like I had with my ds.
I'm going to try out the razr 2 up front, with kutters in the rear this time I think they will be aggressive enough to consider them diggers ;) and then I will find a set of 10in rims with some good plain knobies

That's the combo I'm running and I'm pretty hard on the tires. I ride a lot of high speed asphalt, and the Kutter's are only about 1/2 wore after almost 2 full session's of riding. I'd say if it weren't for the asphalt they'd still look great. But I'd say I will probably be replacing them mid year 2013. If you get a rear 10" wheel the GBC's tbird88 mentioned are a direct clone of the Raz'r II's. for half the price. To bad they only make the fronts in 21" at least thats the tallest I've seen. And if you go this route remember discount tire is a site sponsor, they carry the GBC's and will beat the lowest price you find. I have the X-rex on my kid's 200cc Phoenix.

Yea that gbc clone up front is a huge price difference! Soon I'll have something from each sponsor! (hoping to do a arms up front before summer.) Its crazy how much this forum has saved me money, and gave me ways to spend it haha;) im glad to hear the kutter wear so well. How do the rears feel at top speeds?

Feel smooth as can be. I've herd the front kutter's may not be so smooth, but idk that's just what I've herd.
